  2022: The Great Regret, or The Grass Is Not Always Greener
(and Let’s Blame the Gardener)
 
  In a new study, a full 72% of employees who started a new job during the pandemic say they are surprised or unhappy with their move. The study also finds that over 80% of younger workers say it’s okay to leave a job in six months if you don’t like it. Maybe this lack of loyalty is floating upstream. We’ve started getting more calls from prospective clients who’ve let their new HR leaders go after days or weeks on the job—-not even months. Are we moving from the Great Resignation to the “Great Two-Way Regret?” Plant the lawn, rip it out, lay new sod, and then rip it out again?

We worked with Synaptics to place Lien Nguyen as Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). In the role, Nguyen will be based in Synaptics' office in San Jose, CA and will report to the Senior VP of Worldwide HR. Overseeing the HRBP function, Nguyen will be responsible for enhancing the company’s performance and talent management framework, while introducing new ways to elevate employee engagement, career development and recognition.

Nguyen joins Synaptics from Pentagon Technologies where she served as Vice President of Human Resources. With over 20 years of experience as a strategic HRBP in global high-tech organizations, and complimentary experience in centralized HR, Nguyen held earlier HR leadership positions at Lumentum, JDS Uniphase, Credence Systems, NPTest and Schlumberger ATE. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration - Human Resources from San Jose State University and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) with additional certifications by Korn Ferry/Loominger Voices and Choices and the Executive Compensation Immersion Program.

We partnered with Mindtickle to place Lynette Fisher as People Success Leader. In this role, Fisher will oversee U.S., Canada and U.K. HR operations, also working closely with the team in India to develop global practices. She will partner with the talent acquisition team to source and attract the highest caliber talent to support Mindtickle’s growth. Fisher will manage performance, employee engagement, compliance and HR policies and work with senior leaders across the workforce to forge a strong, global company culture.

Fisher brings with her over 20 years of HR leadership experience, most recently at SaaS communications platform 8x8 as Senior Director, HRBP and earlier as Director of HR. She also served as a Senior HRBP and Diversity & Inclusion Manager at Hortonworks, and at SAP for over six years, with earlier HR positions at Skybox Security and Atrica. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University.

  • Keyfactor welcomed Gail Joyce as the company’s new Chief People Officer. Joyce brings over 20 years of leadership experience, most recently as Vice President (VP), Global Human Resources (HR) at Hyland Software. Previously she held HR roles at companies including Ferro Corporation, AmTrust Bank, Cleveland Clinic Foundation and OfficeMax. (Announcement)
  • Sauce Labs Inc. announced the appointment of Martha Jensen as Chief People Officer. Jensen joins from Ivalua where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer and brings an outstanding background in HR leadership to Sauce Labs. Some of her previous roles include Senior HR Leader at Facebook, Chief People Officer at Vendavo and Senior Director of Global HR Business Partners at Symantec. (Announcement)
  • Blankfactor appointed Damian Tanenbaum as Chief Operating and People Officer. Tanenbaum brings extensive strategic operations experience to Blankfactor, most recently as Head of Customer Delivery and Chief Operating Officer at Ingenico Group. He has held leadership roles at Pivotal Payments, Fifth Third Processing Solutions and Global Payments Inc. (Announcement)
  • UnitedHealth Group promoted Erin McSweeney as its new Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief People Officer. McSweeney has been with the company for five years and previously held the EVP and Chief of Staff to the CEO role. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, she served at Dell EMC during a 10-year tenure moving upward from a Senior Director of HR role to becoming the company’s EVP of HR.
  • Cigna Corporation announced the promotion of Cynthia Ryan as the company’s new EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer. Ryan has built her HR career with Cigna over the past 23 years, holding different roles within the HR function, most recently Senior Vice President (SVP) of HR. (Announcement)
  • BlueVine welcomed Yael Malek as the company’s new Chief People Officer. Malek joins BlueVine from Gainsight where she served for six years and held different HR leadership roles, her most recent being VP of People. There she helped design and develop the customer success function and led the company’s Americas and EMEA HR, while also scaling the organization. (Announcement)
  • Niche announced Kelly Lavin as the company’s first-ever Chief People Officer. Lavin bring an incredible background in HR leadership to Niche, with over 20 years working within the People function. She previously served as SVP of Talent at Jobvite. Her previous roles include Chief Talent Officer at Canvas, EVP of Talent Management at Apparatus and Director of Talent Management at Emmis Communications. (Announcement)
  • HealthJoy has appointed Michelle Byrd as Chief People Officer. Byrd previously served as Chief People Officer at SparkPost and prior to that held the same role at Zaloni. She has held HR executive roles at Validant, IBM, Cardlytics Inc., Atlanticus and Luminant Worldwide, among others. (Article)

CJ Mione is an HR and talent executive whose leadership experience includes a long track record with name brand employers, including American Express, AT&T Wireless, CompuPay and Spirit Airlines. CJ has worked in HR and learning and development (L&D) across multiple industries including technology, financial services, health care and aviation. She joins the firm from Baptist Health South Florida.

CJ has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Talent Management Certificate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Certification in Training and HR Development from Florida International University College of Business.
