Neiman Marcus, One of America’s Most Prestigious Luxury Retailers, Hires Marianne Michalek as Senior Director of Compensation and Human Resources Systems

Neiman Marcus, a Dallas-based retailer for luxury fashion and goods offering an elevated retail experience since 1907, welcomes Marianne Michalek as Senior Director of Compensation and Human Resources (HR) Systems. Neiman Marcus partnered with Frederickson Partners on the executive search.

In her role, Michalek will manage staff and functions applicable to the executive, corporate and group operations compensation programs and services within Neiman Marcus Group’s total rewards department. She will support executive compensation programs, assist in preparations for Compensation Committee meetings, oversee and participate in analytics and program design activities and prepare presentations and other materials for Committee meetings. Michalek will partner closely with internal team members including Finance, Operations, Merchandising, People Services and Legal, among other responsibilities. She will report to the company’s Vice President of Total Rewards, Justin Johnson.

Michalek joins Neiman Marcus from J. Jill, where she served as Senior Director of Benefits, Compensation and HRIS. There she designed, developed and delivered a total rewards strategy in support of business strategy and ensured continuous evaluation and improvement of HR processes and systems. Prior to J. Jill, Michalek worked at Legrand North America for nine years as an HR Leader. There she led a team of HR professionals to develop strategy and oversee implementation of programs and services for compensation and benefits, recognition programs, talent management, employee communications, and HR systems, policies and processes. Her earlier positions include HR Leader at The Wiremold Company. Michalek holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from University of Hartford where she graduated summa cum laude.
