Dear Friends,
We’re living in unprecedented times. This global pandemic and “sheltering in place” have added new concerns to daily business for all of us. For some employers it’s business as usual and as simple as asking everyone to work from home. For others, it’s a challenging time involving complex schedules, layoffs, high risks and uncertainty.
At Fredrickson Partners, we’d like to express first our hope that all of you are keeping yourselves and your families and communities protected to the utmost. And I look forward, like all of you, to being back to health and safety and moving businesses ahead.
Many of you have known me personally and my firm for the full 25 years we've been in business. Over the years we’ve provided services from outplacement and HR advisory, to interim People/HR placement and People/HR executive search. Our job has been to help our clients through great times of growth and change. You've seen our name change to Frederickson Partners, a name which has great meaning for me personally. No matter how you have worked with us, we are partners and we are friends.
Over the past few weeks I've been chatting with many of you. You’ve spoken, for instance, about working from home leading significant People/HR organizations with three children, no nanny and your spouse working 12 shifts as a doctor. You’ve spoken about being a beacon of leadership and setting an example for other People leaders. Those of you at startups have discussed swift RIFs and the push for fundraising and pivoting. And you’ve spoken about losing reqs you really needed to fill, and not being sure when they’ll reopen. Some of you have quit or want to quit your jobs for a bunch of really good reasons. And others are still hiring and growing. All of this is the new normal.
As we have for the past 25 years through upturns and downturns, we’ll help you through great times of change and growth when you really need someone you can trust. We continue to conduct numerous People/HR searches, coaching everyone involved on how to build warmth over Zoom; to perform HR advisory in topics like compensation, M&A activity and talent acquistion; and to provide high touch corporate outplacement (our company roots). Now more than ever, it’s a good time to chat.
My thoughts of inspiration for you come from Winston Churchill’s acts during World War II in England, where my mother grew up. Together, we will get through this. I look forward to speaking to you soon and to helping you with whatever part of the People equation you require.
