“For me, it’s all about the people and the function – from my colleagues, to the clients whose businesses we help grow, to the candidates whose futures we have the opportunity to enrich. After more than 30 years in the human resources field, watching the HR function evolve as true enabler of success is fantastic.””
James brings over 30 years of international experience in all areas of human resources to Frederickson Partners, which he joined in 1999. He previously served as a partner, with responsibilities for overall operations and staff development, and is now a senior board member to the firm. James has been integral to helping staff understand the nuances of human resources, how clients can use the function to drive business and the experiences candidates must have to meet these needs. He has also provided HR consulting services to clients and helped the firm establish a balanced business model that has withstood business cycle fluctuations.
Previously, James led HR shared services for top technology companies and spent time leading global compensation for several organizations. He served as HR director for Philips’ wireless connectivity organization during its startup phase. Prior to that, he was a VP of HR Asia Pacific for both Tenneco in Singapore, and W.R. Grace in Hong Kong. James earlier served as senior HR director for Texas Instruments, where he was responsible for building alliances in 11 Southeast Asian countries while based in Hong Kong. He is also a retired U.S. Marine Corps captain.
Outside of work, James enjoys traveling to historic cities, horseback riding, hiking and volunteering at a food bank near his Texas home.
